Milena is the limited edition Sibania created especially for Mother’s Day 2019.
This is a truly special figurine, of which only 100 copies will be made, hand-numbered with third-fire colours (which are then fired, fixed onto the porcelain by heat), and which can only be purchased until 12 May, Mother’s Day.
The neatly and evenly draped dress is the result of a new sheet-modelling technique, devised specifically for this figurine, and unveiled here for the very first time.
The choice of colours and of the composed yet light pose conveys the feelings and memories that we felt belong to the image of mothers: sweet, reassuring, elegant and gentle. The eyes are green, like sunrays filtered through leaves, and the hair holds a little of the warmth of spring already blazing by May.
Finally, Milena holds three white flowers in her lap, three callas, whose name comes from the Greek “kalos” (beautiful) — a symbol precisely of beauty, simplicity and purity.
